Archive digital footage allows us to witness friendly and confidential conversations between Gotovac and Faktor that took place over beer. They talk about Martinac and Karabatic, Marx and Engels, beards and personal health issues. Although advanced in years, Tom still had that boyish wonder which is the trait of all true artists, revealing new layers of a personality of a great performer. At one moment, Tom jokingly suggests to submit the video to the Split Film Festival. Shot in 2000, after 17 years, it finally arrived.
Born in 1948 in the Croatian region of Slavonia, in Donji Andrijevci. Moved to Zagreb in 1961. Where he graduated from college of graphics and studies at the faculty of Economics. Worked in PR in the publishing company ‘Mladost’ from 1977 to 1993. Member of the Zagreb Cine-club since 1965. This is the period of his most awarded works: Mr. Chips, to smo mi/ Mr Chips, That’s Us and Iris. As he worked for the Croatian film association from 1996 to October 2013, this is where he produced his first video Zapis/ Note (1998), followed by numerous shorts. Radivoj worked with Tom Gotovac on a number of Tom’s films as cameraman, editor and assistant director.
