Two 17 and 18-year-old girls, Julija and Lena, arrive in Zagreb, hoping for a romantic weekend getaway, something they can never have in their small hometown. However, the trip turns into a nightmare when they discover the landlord of the apartment tricked them. The only solution is to go to Julija’s older brother Leo, who could pose a much bigger problem for their relationship.
Born in 1990, comes from Vrboska, island Hvar. She has a Master’s degree in Business Economics but has been working as a writer for ten years. Her fantasy YA novel has been published by Algoritam and she is currently adapting the story to TV series. She worked as the editorial assistant, content writer, film critic, actress, script supervisor and 1st AD for major Croatian production companies. Daria has finished numerous filmmaking and screenwriting workshops, among which ones are TorinoFilmLab TV Series Extended and the Script station within Talents Sarajevo 2018. She was a member of the Young Jury at the Pula Film Festival in 2017. “Toast” is the first short fiction film she wrote, directed and produced. She’s currently developing a period drama TV series with production company Drugi plan and is in pre-production of her next two short films.
